Marion Comprehensive Plan

The update to the Marion, Iowa Comprehensive Plan came approximately ten years after the last adopted plan and had the goal of defining growth boundaries and planning for a projected increase in population. Houseal Lavigne Associates led a process that included extensive citizen involvement, visioning, development of a growth strategy, brownfield site redevelopment recommendations, and detailed subarea plans for the City’s distinct neighborhoods. The Plan prioritized “place-making” to ensure Historic Uptown and the City’s neighborhoods were attractive and inviting, creating an enhanced quality of life and community character for all areas.

The Plan also included a gateways plan and street cross sections analysis and recommendations to further establish an enhanced community aesthetic.
