Winfield Downtown Marketing and Capacity Study
The Village of Winfield has a traditional downtown known as Town Center. The Village, and Town Center, is divided by the Union Pacific railroad tracks, which provides commuter service to and from the City of Chicago. Houseal Lavigne Associates directed a study to better understand the issues, opportunities, community preferences, and potentials for development in the Town Center and surrounding areas. Past plans in the Village did not adequately address the desire for transit-oriented development nor the facilities desired to attract new residents and businesses. The purpose of the Downtown Marketing and Capacity Study was to provide market analysis for commercial and residential development potential within the Town Center. In addition, the Study also examined land use, transportation and circulation, the potential for new feeder transportation, and overall Town Center parking capacity.
